In the village of Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia sits a small public garden preparing for its fifth growing season. It was built for community elders; inspired by the idea of creating a space to simultaneously mitigate food insecurity and social isolation in the senior population. It is a mix of both flowers and food grown in waist high hugelkultures built from hefty pallets and other raised beds. A pergola provides shaded seating. Just a short stroll away is the village's Hummingbird Garden!
