Native Plant Celebration Garden
Everyone in Canada is invited to Live the Garden Life, and share their garden. Did you know the native plants in your garden are important for the local ecosystem?
What are we celebrating? Native Plant Celebration Gardens
Species that over a long period of time occur naturally in a particular ecosystem, and are adapted to the local soil and climate conditions are considered native plants. They tend to use less water and need less care than non-native species, and naturally attract beneficial native pollinators like bees, butterflies and birds. The seeds, nuts and fruits they produce offer natural food for wildlife. By signing up your garden as a Native Plant Celebration Garden you will be helping others learn from your gardening success. It’s an expression of how you and your garden are making a difference.
