Dear Garden Lover
The Canadian Garden Council recently started a new GoFundMe campaign for the Year of the Garden 2022, to help us reach our goal of inspiring more Canadians, especially younger generations, to learn about the heritage, and economic, aesthetic, environmental and health benefits of gardens, to spend time gardening at home, in schools, and in their communities, to appreciate gardens as destinations, and to consider ornamental horticulture as a rewarding career.
We’ve received generous sponsorship and support from the Garden-Family: large and small businesses and organizations in the ornamental horticulture industry who support the mission. Garden Destinations are investing and Government grants are helping to launch the Year of the Garden 2022.
To create a sustainable grass-roots program, one that will leave important legacies for a sustainable future, we’re very excited to invite individuals, families and garden club members to help our fundraising effort to reach $100,000 before summer 2022. These funds, will support the following 3 goals:
- reach more Canadians across the nation, with more inspiring information about how to Live the Garden Life,
- development of Canada’s Garden Hall of Fame celebrating our garden heritage
- pursue our goal of A Garden for Every School by 2025.
