Teacher Tanya Fifield is an inspiration, overseeing a school garden club. In June 2022, she launched a fruit tree orchard to be based at the school. Students learned how to plant and care for trees that will bear fruit, nuts and berries – benefitting the community and wildlife. An area high in food insecurity will benefit from apples, cherries, mulberries, peaches, currants, blueberries. She was also instrumental securing and caring for two memorial trees for 2 students who had recently passed
