Mission

  • To honour and celebrate individuals, organizations and events that have made substantial contributions to the development of Canada’s garden culture and horticulture sector.

  • To capture, preserve and share the history of Canada’s garden culture and horticulture sector

Governance

Canada’s Garden Hall of Fame operates as a subsidiary program of the Canadian Garden Council with the participation of the Centre for Canadian Historical Horticultural Studies at Royal Botanical Gardens. Its leadership is ensured by:

  • Garden Hall of Fame Advisory Board: (being established)
    Individuals representing the various branches of our garden culture and horticulture sector, responsible for providing the framework and direction for the development and growth of Canada’s Garden Hall of Fame.

  • Garden Hall of Fame Honour Committee:
    Individuals with historical and garden culture and horticulture sector knowledge to manage the criteria for nominations and the selection of individuals, organizations and event selected to be honoured by Canada’s Gardens Hall of Fame.

Location

The Hall of Fame is web base but could include physical locations as it develops and resources permit.
