Once a refugee himself, through Ogbay’s leadership, FRESH Starts Newcomer Garden is a multi impact way of creating a warm welcome for newcomers, their families and the local community.
The garden has facilitated:
1) Health and Wellness – access to land/natural spaces to grow/eat healthy food, especially food from one’s country of origin
2) Connection – access to people who care
3) Pre-employment/volunteerism/honorariums – access to tools/supports to provide for oneself and/or one’s family
